Charlie Sheen has hired Laura Bell Bundy to replace Selma Blair on 'Anger Management'.
The 47-year-old actor had Selma, who played his therapist Dr. Kate Wells on the comedy series, axed from the show last month following a "heated battle" after he learnt that she had allegedly complained about his work ethic to producers.
Lionsgate productions confirmed the news in a statement on Tuesday (06.08.13) that Tony Award-nominee Laura, 32, who starred in 'Legally Blonde: The Musical' and also had a recurring role as Shelby in 'Hart of Dixie', is joining the show next season and will play Dr. Jordan Denby.
The blonde beauty's character will be "the new sex-study research partner" of Charlie's character, Dr, Charlie Goodson, and is described as a "brilliant psychologist whose recent divorce, fondness for alcohol and wild mood swings turn Charlie's life into an emotional roller coaster."
Selma, 40, previously expressed her gratitude for the love and support she received after Lionsgate confirmed she was not returning to the show.
She wrote on Twitter: "I thank you for support and love."
Charlie reportedly told producers of the show that he would quit if they did not immediately replace Selma because he believed she was trashing him behind his back.
Producers quickly gave into his demands and the studio released a statement in June, saying: "We are confirming that Selma Blair will not be returning to 'Anger Management' and we wish her the very best."
Charlie - who was fired from 'Two and a Half Men' in 2011 after his infamous hell-raising lifestyle got out of control - was originally said to have been eager for Mila Kunis to replace Selma.
The outspoken actor, who is reportedly set to earn between $75 million and $200 million if he completes the 100-episode order for the series, has starred in roughly 50 episodes to date.
