The 35-year-old actor has put together an adventure-thriller-story called 'American Drifter' based on a dream he had.
Speaking to Us Magazine, he said: "'American Drifter's romance was inspired by a dream I had. The dream had played out so vividly, as if I was a fly on the wall watching this tale go down. Also, at that time, I had been searching for a story that would resonate with the youth of the world in a way that would make us feel the light and excitement for adventure."
The novel, which isn't set for release until next year, follows the story of an American soldier backpacking through Brazil.
He explained: "'American Drifter' became a combination of those two journeys merging together with Rio de Janeiro setting the stage for an adventure thriller romance."
Next year looks set to be a busy one for the hunk as he and his wife Sarah Roemer, 32, recently announced that they are expecting their second child together and are due to meet the little one - whose sex is not yet known - in the early part of 2017.
The loved-up duo sparked rumours they were expecting another little one after Sarah uploaded a photo of her with a bump.
She accompanied the picture with the caption: "Great seeing @ajwilliams23 after the big win! Let's go Buffalo! @chadmurray15 #buffalove #billsmafia #billsrams2016 (sic)"
The pair - who got married last year following just months of dating - also have a 17-month-old son, whose name isn't known, and are keen to keep their private life tightly under wraps.
Chad said recently: "I'm really good at staying under the radar these days. My wife and I, we don't go to the quote-unquote 'cool' places. We have our own life, we have our dogs, we have our lifestyle that we truly enjoy, and we've got a cabin if we want to get away and go camping. I feel very good about my private scene. I'm going to do everything I can to protect my family."
