Cate Blanchett doesn't have the space for more children.
The 46-year-old actress and theatre director husband Andrew Upton added to their brood of three sons, Dashiell, 14, Roman, 11, and seven-year-old Ignatius, when they adopted baby Edith last year, and though the whole family dote on the new addition, they won't be extending their family any further.
Asked if she will adopt again, Cate said: "No, I don't think we have any more rooms left in our house.
"We're surprised by how quickly our boys have accepted our little girl. They treat her like one of the family and that's really been beautiful for us to see."
The 'Knight of Cups' actress loves the "chaos" of having a big family.
She said: "It's chaos. I wouldn't know how to describe it differently, but children are a marvellous form of chaos."
Though she adores her profession, Cate would prefer it if her kids opted for different career paths.
Asked if she wants them to follow her into acting, she told OK! magazine: "Only if they want it badly enough.
"But this profession is like an obstacle course. It's better to avoid choosing this kind of life if they're only doing it because their parents were involved.
"You've got to be very passionate about wanting to be an actor and be willing to take the risk that you don't reach the level of success that you're hoping to achieve."
