Casey Affleck and Summer Phoenix have split.
The couple - who have sons Indiana, 11, and eight-year-old Atticus - have "amicably" gone their separate ways after almost 10 years of marriage.
A spokesperson confirmed to In Touch magazine: "Casey and Summer have amicably separated. They remain very close friends."
Though news of the separation has just broken, it has been claimed the couple - who had dated for six years before tying the knot in June 2006 - had separated several months ago and tried hard to repair their relationship.
A source said: "She was having a lot of trust issues.
"They went to couples counselling but they just couldn't recover."
Despite their separation, the former couple are "committed" to co-parenting their sons.
Casey, 40, was first introduced to Summer, 37, by her brother, and his 'I'm Still Here' collaborator, Joaquin Phoenix, in 2000.
Last month, the 'Gone Baby Gone' star endured an awkward interview with talk show host Stephen Colbert, which got off to a bad start when the presenter poked fun at his scruffy appearance.
Stephen said: "Thanks for dressing up. I can't tell whether this choice is the least celebrity thing to do or the most celebrity thing to do because it's very casual."
There was then a number of other uncomfortable exchanges, prompting the presenter to joke: "We should probably end up fighting at the end of this. It feels like this is where this is going."
