Carrie Underwood is determined not to spoil her children.
The 32-year-old singer and her husband Mike Fisher are adamant they won't shower their nine-month-old son Isaiah with too many gifts over Christmas because they want him to understand the true meaning behind the festive season.
Speaking to PEOPLE.com, the blonde beauty said: "I feel there's a lot of Christmas that has kind of gotten lost, [Mike and I] have talked about not wanting to spoil our kids. We want it to be more about the family and the fun times."
And, although Christmas is still four weeks away, Carrie has already started thinking about how she'll spend the day.
She explained: "We'll get up and go to Waffle House.
"It's such a hectic time, and I don't feel like making breakfast on a day that you're just making so much food anyway. We order breakfast and leave a ginormous tip."
Meanwhile, the 'Mama's Song' hitmaker recently admitted she wasn't looking for love when she met hockey player Mike, whom she married five years ago in 2010.
She said: "I was happy in my life and where I was and never considered myself to be the kind of person who needed a man or anyone, really.
"But with Mike, it all fell into place. It was like, this works, this fits. It was easy. From that moment on we were together.
And Carrie thinks the pair work so well together because their differences complement one another."
