Carrie Underwood says Miranda Lambert's split from Blake Shelton made her want "to take stock" of her own marriage.
The 32-year-old singer, who tied the knot with professional ice hockey player Mike Fisher, 35, five years ago, admits her friends' sudden decision to divorce in July prompted her to make sure her husband is happy.
Asked about their split, she said: "It makes you want to take stock of your own marriage. Like, 'What do you need? Are you happy? What can I do to make things better?'"
Carrie has also learned a lot about marriage from her own parents, who have been together for 47 years.
She told PEOPLE: "My parents are great, hardworking people, and they made sure we had everything we needed. They have their way of doing things, some of which I would emulate and some not. I mean, that's everybody right?"
While the blonde beauty is close friends with both Miranda and Blake, she has no desire to have a friend squad like Taylor Swift, 25.
She said: "What's 'squad'? My friends are normal people - one's a baker and the other is a stay-at-home mom."
The 'Blown Away' hitmaker also prefers to lead a quite life away from the spotlight.
She said: "I don't feel a need to rebel. There's no dark side to me that is going to come out."
