Cameron Diaz's new home is "perfect for staying out of the limelight".
The actress has been filming a remake of 'Annie' in New York and has enjoyed being in the city so much she's bought a $9 million condo in the Walker Tower in the fashionable Chelsea neighbourhood.
And Cameron has picked up a perfect property for a celebrity of her stature, according to real estate expert Cristin Zweig.
Zweig told Life and Style magazine: "It's the perfect celebrity haven in the middle of Gotham. Tucked inside a completely renovated art deco building, the walls and floors are essentially soundproofed. That's perfect for Cameron, who's staying out of the limelight."
Cameron - a native of California - says she prefers New York for now because she gets to lead a normal life without people prying on her business like in Hollywood.
She said: "I can have a life in New York, which is something that's become a task in Los Angeles. You get treated the same as everybody else in New York."
Included in her plush building - a former telephone exchange built in 1929 by noted architect Ralph Walker - are a 24-hour concierge, library, fitness centre with yoga room, sauna and a huge landscaped deck.
