The 'I Am Cait' star and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres gifted Blossom Brown $20,000 to help her get into nursing school after the 65-year-old former Olympian - who was known as Bruce Jenner - met the young student and learned how she had repeatedly been rejected from her dream course because of her transgender status, and Blossom is still "shocked" by their generosity.

Blossom said: "I still have shock waves all over my body. I just could not believe it. I had no idea. It was amazing.

"It gave me so much hope again. That hope that I lost trying to find a school the first time, Cait gave that back to me. The money, I had no idea. That shocked me. But just the fact that Cait was willing to do that for me, that meant the world to me. That meant so much more to me than anything.

"I feel so grateful and just so blessed. It's just been amazing. I can't thank Cait enough...or Ellen."

Since her plight was highlighted on 'I Am Cait', Blossom has been inundated with study offers.

She told E! News: "It is going so great. I am being bombarded by people. Like on Twitter, I've had so many people reach out to me, Facebook, on my fan page. People just inboxing me schools to look at and things like that. As I'm researching and looking at how some of their programs are catered to transgender people, it's just so amazing."

And Blossom also praised her "beautiful and humble" new friend, Caitlyn.

She said: "I told her I was so proud of her. She's grown and I see that growth in her and I just love her...She is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. The media has their opinions, but people who know her have theirs.

"Caitlyn is one of the most generous, sweet people you were ever meet. She gives good advice, she talks about her children, she loves her family: they mean the world to her. She is amazing. She's so kind-hearted, words just can't even express. She's beautiful, humble."
