And the 54-year-old performer seemed thrilled with crowd's reaction when Caitlyn arrived on stage to open the show because it showed his fans were supportive of her decision to transition to a woman.
According to The Sun newspaper, he told the audience: "I expected a standing ovation for her and I wasn't disappointed ... We need to celebrate the kinds of changes that are happening."
The 65-year-old TV personality - who attended the show with her rumoured girlfriend Candis Cayne - was returning the favour by introducing the band, as frontman Boy George is believed to have sung at her spiritual naming ceremony at her home in Malibu, California, earlier in the day.
