Brooke Mueller is confident she will win back custody of her sons as soon as she leaves rehab.

The 35-year-old socialite, whose four-year-old twins with ex-husband Charlie Sheen, Bob and Max, were removed from her care last month and temporarily placed in Denise Richards' custody by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), believes she and her family will have no problem reassuring the judge that they can provide a safe and stable environment for the boys.

A source close to Brooke told gossip website TMZ.com that she believes the court will return the twins to her when she completes her 21st stint in rehab and Brooke's family is prepared to do whatever it takes to convince the court that she can take care of her children, even if it means that another family member moves in with Brooke and the boys to supervise the situation.

However, other sources insist that the DCFS won't even consider returning Bob and Max to their mother until they have proof she is sober and determined to stay clean.

The insider suggested that it could be at least a year before the DCFS gives her back custody of her children but will allow meaningful visitation between Brooke and her children in the mean time.

The blonde beauty was allegedly branded an "unfit mother" by a judge this week after checking out of the Betty Ford Clinic in California in favour of completing her rehab treatment elsewhere.
