Brie Larson was told she was "not pretty enough" to secure leading roles in Hollywood movies.

The Oscar-nominated star has revealed she spent years attending casting calls in revealing outfits in a bid to attract the attention of ultra-critical directors, many of whom claimed her appearance was not suitable for their move.
The 26-year-old beauty, who stars in 'Room', said: "The best thing about winning awards for 'Room' is that I got to burn my denim mini-skirt.
"If I see other actresses I'm always asking, 'When did you burn your denim mini-skirt?'
"When we all auditioned together we had the pumps, we had the tank top, we had the push-up bra and we had the denim mini-skirt for those particular auditions.
"From the time I got boobs until this moment, I can't tell you how many times I would go in to audition and they'd be like, 'Can you come back sexier?'
"And you can't believe that that's a real thing that someone's saying to you. Like, 'We love what you're doing, you can totally play Adam Sandler's girlfriend at 18 years old, perfect, perfect, age not a problem - but you need to come back and sex it up'."
Brie said the other actresses she has encountered at casting calls all suffered the same fate.
She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "I was told all the other ones too, like, 'You're too tall, you're not funny enough, you're not pretty enough, you're too pretty, you're not this, you're too much of that'. You just feel weird.
"And you're sitting in a waiting room with 20 other girls who are also wearing the denim mini-skirt."
