Brian Blessed's dog ate his Best Actor award.
The 'Flash Gordon' star won a bizarrely-shaped prize of a bone sat on top of a rock at the Tenerife Film Festival for his role as George Mallory in 1991 TV movie 'Galahad of Everest', and when he got back home his pet pooch took a big liking to it and had it for dinner.
He said: "The strangest award I received was for the Best Actor at the Tenerife Film Festival for Galahad of Everest. The award was a huge bone on a rock.
"I remember Kevin Costner laughed his head off.
"I brought it back to London and my Jack Russell ate it."
While the 79-year-old star's crafty canine made a dogs dinner out of his award, Brian insists he rarely thinks about being recognised for his work.
He said: "It's marvellous to win an award but I tend not to think about them."
One achievement the comedy actor - who played Prince Vultan in 'Flash Gordon' - hasn't won any silverware for just happens to be his proudest ever accomplishment - going to the magnetic North Pole.
He added to the Metro newspaper: "It took us six months to get there from Resolute in northern Canada.
"And I suppose climbing Everest without oxygen at the age of 66."
The star loved it so much he's going to attempt the expedition again in 2016 at the age of 79.
He said: "I'm doing that again next year. I'm going to try it without oxygen again and see how it goes. I seem to have an affinity for altitude."
