Blake Shelton has had a "crazy year".

The 'God Gave Me You' hitmaker was honoured with the Artist of the Year gong at last night's (02.12.15) CMT Music Awards and alluded to his rollercoaster love life, which has seen him divorce Miranda Lambert and start dating Gwen Stefani within the 12 months.

Accepting the honour, he said: "This is awesome, I've never gotten one of these from CMT before and been jealous over the last few years. First of all, thank you to CMT for including me on this. So cool.

"So let me just say that I want to thank my label and thank my entire team. There's too many people to stand up here and name, but more importantly, I want to say that this has been a crazy year, from the way it started to how it's ending so awesome for me. So thank y'all. This is a great way to end it for me. Thank you so much."

Meanwhile, the 39-year-old singer's ex-wife Miranda previously insisted the former couple are "moving forward" following their split.

She shared: "We are real people with real lives and real s**t. We're both very honest.

"This is what it is now, and we're moving forward. We don't need all the opinions. We just need y'all to be supportive, and nobody pick a
 side -- because there ain't a side."
