Blake Shelton is expecting his marriage breakdown to be the subject of jokes at the CMA Awards.
The 39-year-old singer split from Miranda Lambert this summer after four years of marriage and, as they will both be in attendance at the annual country music awards ceremony next month, he is ready for host Brad Paisley to poke fun at them.
Speaking on 'Late Night With Seth Meyers', he said: "This year's gonna be awkward at the CMAs, speaking of jokes.
"Because we are, it's such a family. Everybody there is friends. There's gotta be one about me and Miranda.
"Brad Paisley is not doing his job if he doesn't look down there and go 'Ha ha!'
"You have to address the elephant in the room. We've had the conversations like, 'OK, dude. I'll sit there and let you kick me in the face a few times.' I know it's coming."
Meanwhile, the 'Honey Bee' singer has been focused on his commitments as a coach on 'The Voice' and has admitted he has been trying to be as "flirty" as possible with this year's guest mentor, Rihanna.
He said of the 'Diamonds' singer: "She's such a smart-ass.
"I never could get the upper hand with her. I was trying to get her to be a bit flirty, I mean, why not? I'm a perfect match for Rihanna. And so I was coming up with our couple name 'Blihanna' was one of them and 'Rake.'"
