Billie Lourd says being in lockdown whilst pregnant made the process “so magical and wonderful”.
The ‘Scream Queens’ star surprised her fans in September when she took to social media to reveal she had welcomed a baby boy with her fiancé, Austen Rydell, as she hadn’t told the public about her pregnancy.
And Billie has now said the coronavirus pandemic helped her keep her pregnancy a secret because she didn’t have to be spotted outside with a baby bump.
She explained: “I got to keep it to myself. And only my family knew and nobody else knew. Like everyone was so surprised when we posted that little picture of his feet and it got to just be something I shared with the people I loved the most, which was so incredible and made my pregnancy so magical and wonderful, which I did not expect it was going to be.”
Billie, 28, also said lockdown helped her and Austen grow closer.
Speaking to her step-father, Bruce Bozzi, for his ‘Quarantined with Bruce’ show on SiriusXM, she added: “We got so close and got to know each other, even not that we didn’t know each other well, but now we know each other better than anybody could ever know each other.”
The ‘American Horror Story’ star named her son Kingston Fisher Lourd Rydell, and his moniker pays tribute to Billie’s late mother, Carrie Fisher, who passed away in 2016.
Announcing her son’s birth on Instagram in September, Billie posted a picture of Kingston's feet and wrote: "Introducing: Kingston Fisher Lourd Rydell", along with blue love hearts and crown emojis.
Billie and Austen first began dating in 2016, and announced they had gotten engaged in June last year.
