Bette Midler is set to perform at the Oscars next month.

The 'Wind Beneath My Wings' hitmaker will take to the stage to sing at the awards show in the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles for the first time on March 2.

It is not yet known what song the 68-year-old star, who was nominated twice for Best Actress in the past, will perform at the star-studded ceremony.

But Bette, who has served as a presenter several times in the past, hinted she hasn't decided yet, as she wrote on Twitter on Wednesday (19.02.14): "Now that the news is out, what shall I sing at this years #Oscars? (sic)"

Oscar producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan also convinced Barbra Streisand to sing 'The Way We Were' during a tribute to its late composer, Marvin Hamlisch, last year.

In a statement, they said: "We are thrilled to have Bette perform on the Oscars for the very first time. We believe she will make our Oscar telecast an especially moving evening."

U2 and Pharrell Williams are among the other artists to have agreed to sing at the prestigious event this year.

The Irish rockers will perform their track 'Ordinary Love,' which is nominated for best Original Song, while Pharrell will sing his nominated hit 'Happy' from the film 'Despicable Me 2.'

'Frozen' star Idina Menzel will sing 'Let It Go' from the film and Karen O will sing 'The Moon Song' from the movie 'Her', which are also both nominated in the category.
