Bette Midler has hit back at Kim Kardashian West after she branded her a "fake friend" following a spat over her selfie.

The legendary performer has poked fun at the 35-year-old reality TV star, who attempted to break the internet earlier this week when she uploaded a racy nude photo online, for not taking a "joke" when she mocked her for stripping off for a shot.
Taking to her Twitter account last night (08.03.16), she wrote: "I never tried to fake friend you. Looks like anyone can take a selfie but not everyone can take a joke... (sic)."
The 70-year-old singer was forced to defend herself after Kim, who has two children North, two, and Saint, three months, with her husband Kanye West, lashed out at her for being a hypocrite by ridiculing her over her nude photos.
Kim snapped: "hey @BetteMidler I really didn't want to bring up how you sent me a gift awhile back trying to be a fake friend then come at me #dejavu (sic)."
The hilarious spat came after Bette joked that the brunette beauty, who shot to fame after her sex tape was leaked 13 years ago, would have to swallow a camera if she wanted to expose more than she ever has done before.
She tweeted: "Kim Kardashian tweeted a nude selfie today. If Kim wants us to see a part of her we've never seen, she's gonna have to swallow the camera. (sic)."
But Bette hasn't been the only one in the firing line as Kim also claimed Chloe Grace Moretz was unknown after she suggested the reality star wasn't a good role model.
Kim fired back: "let's all welcome @ChloeGMoretz to twitter, since no one knows who she is. your nylon cover is cute boo (sic)."
