Bella Thorne came out as bisexual via Twitter "for other people's benefits".
The 19-year-old actress opened up about her sexuality on the social media website and has revealed why she thought it was the best possible way to announce the news.
The flame-haired beauty told Paper magazine: "I didn't want to glamorise it.
"The reason why I did it is for other people's benefits, [for those who] have the same insecurity that I had. And that's why I'm doing it."
Bella hopes that her attitude will encourage other people to be open about their sexuality.
She shared: "When you do it in a certain way, you just glamorise it so much it's not easy for kids to relate to. Like a kid could easily write on their Twitter to all their best friends that they're bisexual and come out like that."
Earlier this year, Bella sent a blunt message to her haters, telling them to "f**k off".
Bella "understands" some of the criticism she receives, but also admitted she's tired of people telling her she's "too edgy" now.
Bella - who shot to fame on Disney Channel series 'Shake It Up' - explained: "People often don't want to get to know the real you; they only want to get to know the person they think you are.
"For me, that means people are constantly trying to change me, every second of the day, especially on social media. I'm not fed up with social media - I understand it - but people like to comment on how my image is too edgy, that I'm too edgy, and on how they wish I looked. It's a lot of 'do this, don't do that.' To them I say, f**k off!"
