Bella Hadid "couldn't get out of bed for six days" after she was diagnosed with Lyme disease.
The 20-year-old model, her mother Yolanda and brother Anwar have all been diagnosed with the infectious disease, which can cause a range of health problems, including arthritis and heart failure - and Bella has admitted the discovery was the "hardest time" of her life.
She explained: "I couldn't get out of bed for six days. And my brain would get all foggy, and I couldn't see. That was the hardest time of my life."
Despite her health concerns, Bella's career has gone from strength to strength over the last few years.
And the model - who was involved in a two-year relationship with The Weeknd before they split in November 2016 - insisted she is focused on her professional life, rather than dating, at the moment.
She told the summer issue of Net-a-Porter magazine: "I'm just really focusing on myself, and my work, and just being the best that I can be.
"I'm not really worried about what guys think about me, I'm just trying to be a woman!"
Meanwhile, Gigi Hadid, Bella's older sister, previously admitted how tough she has found it to cope with the stresses of Yolanda's Lyme disease diagnosis in 2012.
The 21-year-old star confessed it has been difficult for Yolanda to adjust to living with the infectious disease, which has meant she's lost the ability to read and write.
Speaking in 2015, the blonde beauty said: "You know it's hard, especially with something like Lyme disease, not a lot of people know about it, especially doctors so they don't really know how to help, medical wise.
"So it's really hard for me and my siblings to know how we could help, but I guess just being supportive is the best way we can do it."
