The 'She's Kinda Hot' hitmaker insists he has no intention to date the 'Blank Space' singer - who has romanced the band's close pal Harry Styles as well as the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas and John Mayer - but has branded her "cool" and a "deep thinker".
He said: "She feels a little destructive to me. I think it's interesting, I think it's cool, she's a deep thinker.
"She has a lot of songs about some messed up relationships. I think some good songs would come out of it."
The 21-year-old drummer also admits he went through some relationship problems of his own following his split from Bryana Holly because the pair couldn't spend enough time together.
Speaking to Howard Stern on Sirius XM, he added: "I tried being in a relationship, but it didn't work out. I've been away for six months."
Meanwhile, Ashton - who will headline his second world tour next year with bandmates Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford and Calum Hood - previously admitted he finds it "intense" being constantly romantically linked to girls he is seen with once or twice.
He explained: "We're single. We date every now and then, like regular dudes. But then you're spotted with a lady and they are automatically your girlfriend - it's so intense."
