The 35-year-old soccer star - who is the ex-husband of Cheryl Fernandez-Versini - and his partner Sharon Canu welcomed a baby boy into the world in Rome, Italy, on Sunday (28.02.16).
Ashley reportedly made the birth by the skin of his teeth after he rushed from Los Angeles - where his team LA Galaxy were playing in the CONCACAF Champions League - to the European country.
Despite being besotted with his new bundle of joy, who was born with a full head of dark hair, the athlete didn't get to spend long with his little addition as he had to fly back to California on Wednesday (02.03.16) for the soccer team's MLS season opener against D.C. United at the weekend.
Ashley was full of excitement ahead of his son's arrival and was reportedly "over the moon" when he learnt his first-born was a boy, according to HELLO! magazine.
The handsome sportsman began dating Sharon, who comes from Italy, in June last year, five years after he divorced Cheryl.
The 'X Factor' judge married Ashley in 2006 but split from him in 2010 following revelations he had cheated on her with other women.
