The 'Call Me by Your Name' actor - who saw his marriage to elizabeth Chambers end and his career go into freefall in 2021 after being accused of physical and sexual abuse and sharing cannibalistic fantasies - enjoyed the "sense of power" in knowing people were attracted to him and admitted he fell into a pattern of enjoying "whirlwind" romances.
Speaking to Christina Pazsitzy and Tom Segura on their 'Your Mom's House' podcast, he said: “People were my bags of dope with skin on it. Like, having that, having people want to have sex with me, having sex with people, doing all that stuff, like, it gave me a sense of power. It gave me a sense of validation.
“What I would do is I would scoop these girls up, take them on a whirlwind month and a half, road trips, trips, whatever. Like, we're gonna do all these things. We're gonna have great sex. Everything's gonna be awesome. And then at the end of it, I'm gonna go, 'Hey, good job. Go team.'
"And then I'm gonna bounce and go do it with someone else and leave this person feeling like, ‘Wait. I just was sucked into this tornado of a world and felt like this is my place now and then dropped.”
The 38-year-old actor admitted he enjoyed tying his partners up during sex and felt his erotic messages were taken out of context.
He said: “I like the idea that you are so completely mine. Yeah. I can do whatever I want, and you love it because you know you're mine.
“And, like, this possession kinda thing, like, that's just fun to talk about. And, by the way, especially if you're, like, drunk or stoned or high at night and you're texting. And while you're saying it, you're, like, chuckling to yourself, like, 'I'm gonna f****** cut your toe off and keep it in my pocket so I got a piece of you everywhere I go', ha ha ha.
“If anyone took anyone's bedroom conversations — specifically, like, if people were having a little bit of sexy time — and they took the s*** that they said, even if it was completely vanilla, and you read that somewhere else out of context, everyone's gonna go, 'You guys are f******disgusting'."
Armie - who previously spoke about being sexually assaulted when he was 13 - has been undergoing therapy and has reflected on some of his unhealthy behaviour.
He said: “There are aspects of my behaviour that I think were coming from maybe not the healthiest place. Then there were aspects of my behaviour that were just expressions of my own sexuality.
“So I had to sort of, like, comb through all of that and figure out what's coming from the right place, what's coming from a trauma place.”
The 'Death on the Nile' actor admitted he thinks he wanted to get "caught" for his infidelity.
He said: "I think somewhere deep down, subconsciously, I wanted to get caught."
