Ariel Winter's mother has lost her bid to gain custody of the 'Modern Family' star.
The 15-year-old actress is currently in the care of her 34-year-old sister Shanelle Grey after being removed from her mother Chrisoula 'Chrystal' Workman's care in October amid allegations of abuse and Chrystal's latest attempt to get her back has failed.
According to TMZ: "Chrystal filed documents recently asking to get her daughter back - after the court stripped her of custody last year -- but the judge in the case refused ... extending the temporary guardianship of Ariel's older sister Shanelle instead."
Ariel was furious after her mother sent her flowers recently and fired off an angry text message to her brother Jimmy Workman.
She wrote: "Tell mom to NEVER send me flowers again. That's retarded and INSANELY inappropriate. INSANELY. If she was thinking of me, she would've thought of my happiness in my life in the first place (sic)."
Ariel previously admitted she has never been happier and feels like a "normal" teenager since moving in with her sister.
She said: "My life is definitely more normal -- and that'll help me grow up like I'm supposed to.
"Sunday we have family dinner. It's just a different experience for me because I have more of a family life. I'm really happy.
"My sister is the most amazing woman I've ever met in my life. If I could be half the woman she is ... she's kind of who I want to be like.
"[Shanelle] supports me in everything I do, and so does my brother-in-law David. Both are kind of like my biggest supporters."
