Ariana Grande "absolutely" sees her and 'Wicked' co-star Cynthia Erivo making original music together.
The 31-year-old pop star and the 37-year-old actress got to record music for their two-part big-screen adaptation of the Broadway show - which sees them star as witches Glinda and Elphaba, respectively - and they worked so well together, Ariana is keen for them to hit the studio again in the future.
Speaking to Variety at the Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on Saturday (19.10.24), she said: “I love being in the studio with her, even just as like a fly on the wall, hearing what she’s working on and having her there when I’m working.
“I think we are stuck with each other, professionally and personally for the rest of our lives. So I would say absolutely.”
The 'Thank U, Next' hitmaker also addressed the use of AI in fan edits of 'Wicked' and admitted that whilst it's "fun" for them, the technology can be "troublesome".
She said: “I think it’s very complicated because I find AI so conflicting and troublesome sometimes, but I think it’s just kind of such a massive adjustment period.
“This is something that is such so much bigger than us and the fans are gonna have fun and make their edits.”
After Cynthia said one of the edits "degrades" her, Ariana agreed that it can go "too far".
She said: “I think so. And I have so much respect for my sister, Cynthia, and I love her so much. It’s just a big adjustment period. It’s so much stimulation about something that’s so much bigger than us.”
Reacting to one of the posters, Cynthia raged: "This is the wildest, most offensive thing I have seen equal to that awful AI of us fighting, equal to people posing the question ‘is your p*** green?”
