The celebrity chef came under fire for using the F-word twice and other expletives on a further two occasions in front of several families at the Porthleven Food and Music Festival in Cornwall, south west England - but has apologised for his actions.

According to the Plymouth Herald newspaper, he later told the crowd: "My apologies. I've realised why I am swearing. It's because my wife isn't here and she doesn't let me swear."

It's not the first time Antony has publically said sorry for his actions.

In January 2012, the former 'Ready Steady Cook' star issued a grovelling apology after he was caught stealing cheese and discounted coleslaw at his local Tesco supermarket.

Antony managed to sneak out items, including bread and wine, from the superstore in Oxfordshire, south west England, on five occasions over the festive period in 2011 but was eventually caught.

He later described his actions as "stupid and irresponsible" and said he was "devastated" that he had let his family and friends down.

Antony said: "I am so sorry for all my recent stupid and irresponsible actions.

"I am of course devastated for my family and friends, whom I've let down, and will seek the treatment that is clearly needed."

The total value of the goods he took was £70.68. He was cautioned by police.
