Anthony Kiedis and his Red Hot Chili Peppers had a great time playing football during rehearsals for their Super Bowl performance with Bruno Mars.
Kiedis and his bandmates joined Bruno Mars during the half-time performance in the NFL game between Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey last night (02.02.14) and though he enjoyed the occasion, the rocker admits his favourite part of the day was getting onto the pitch during rehearsals.
He said: "We did score touchdowns during rehearsals before they kicked us off the field, which was like a dream come true. Our drummer Chad Smith threw me a touchdown pass - one of the greatest feelings of my life."
The 'Under the Bridge' hitmakers joined Bruno for a performance of their hit 'Give It Away' and found the singer to be an "awesome" collaborator.
Anthony told AccessHollywood.com: "Bruno Mars is a complete and utter gentleman. I gained a ton of respect. He was awesome, intelligent and kind."
His bandmate Flea added: "Bruno is a very nice man and his band are a bunch of sweethearts and it was very nice to work with all of them."
Anthony also admitted the group had been approached to perform at the famous half-time show in the past, but didn't give any details.
He simply said: "The conversation had occurred prior over the years."
