Anne Hathaway felt "incredibly empowered" by Twitter trolls.
The 'Les Miserables' star has received hate from trolls on the social media platforms but whilst it would leave most feeling worse, Anne admits it has been a "good thing" for her.
She said: "I really don’t want to dredge up the past but I did have my monster out there, I did have the internet turn on me and hate me and it was like a whole big thing. And it was a really good thing for me personally. You can be incredibly empowered because of those things. So I guess what I’d say is when the bad s*** happens, don’t fear it — just go with it, flow with it."
And the 38-year-old actress admits lockdown has been tough for her but she is grateful to have had her family - husband Adam and their kids, Jonathan, four, and Jack, 14 months - around.
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday about her lockdown experience, she added: "Adam is great. If you’re going to be quarantined with another adult, my husband is the one. In the early days of lockdown we were all so overwhelmed and there was a lot to process and I needed a release but I didn’t want to scare my kids, so I screamed into a pillow a lot."
Meanwhile, Anne previously admitted motherhood is "more than just a challenge".
Asked what her biggest challenge as a mother is, she said: "During the lockdown? Can I curse? The f****** laundry! But, you know, I’m always hesitant to frame things in the realm of challenges because I think it sets a tone. As a mum, I’ve found tonnes of opportunities. There’s obviously a learning curve – you just have to be kind to yourself with that because you do feel like you’re doing everything wrong, especially in the early days. But it’s more than a challenge."
