The 41-year-old actor - who is in a relationship with Dr. Kate Tomas - admitted reaching his 40s and playing a father in his new movie 'We Live in Time' made him consider whether he wants to be a parent himself, but he's aware it isn't an easy task.

He told Esquire magazine: “I’m already a tired guy. I don’t want to be a tired dad.”

And Andrew also acknowledged his fame makes it a tough topic to consider.

He explained: "Particularly bringing new life into the context of my life, there’s a heavy burden there.”

The 'Under the Banner of Heaven' star doesn't like discussing his personal life.

He said: "I have never, and I won’t ever, speak about or confirm or deny anything about my personal life with anyone, ever.”

And he won't use social media because “there’s no winning in that realm.”

After his breakthrough role in 'The Social Network', Andrew turned down a major blockbuster role in favour of starring in 'Death of a Salesman' on Broadway and he recalled how a conversation with the production's director, Mike Nichols, inspired him after he asked him why he lived on New York and not Los Angeles.

Andrew recalled: “He was like, ‘Why would I ever want to live in a place where I can tell how my stock is doing according to how the valet-parking attendant is looking at me on a day-to-day basis?’

"I was like, ‘Wow. I want to go where you’re going.’ ”

The 'Tick, Tick... Boom!' star was profoundly affected by the death of his mother Lynne, who passed away in 2019 after battling pancreatic cancer.

He said: “When Mum died. I felt like half of my ambition died as well.”

And the loss, as well as the positive reaction he had been receiving for his work around that time led to him feeling satisfaction, which concerned him and led to his hiatus in order to "observe the harvest".

He said: “Carl Jung said, ‘I see you suffered a success,’ because there’s no reckoning with the self when things are going well."
