The 'Trainwreck' star loves being on her own when she heads back to her hotel room after a gig as she "runs out of energy".

Speaking on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, she said: "I'm a classic introvert. I don't want to talk to anyone ... even if I see someone I like at the gym I'm like, 'Oh God'.

"Being a performer is great [for introverts], you're alone up here. It's like I'm on stage and I'm yapping and then I'm in my hotel room by myself ... you run out of energy."

Meanwhile, the 35-year-old actress and comedienne previously claimed she is a "a classic textbook introvert".

Writing in her new book, she shared: "It might be surprising for you to learn that most of my days are spent alone, unless I am on set, which is crazy draining for an introvert.

"I think realising that about myself and not fighting it, but instead just taking care of myself and letting myself recharge and having time on my own and also planning for that has made me better and able to do more.

"I can be there and super present and giving and then if it's, 'So, now we're going here.' And I'm like, immediately, 'I KNOW I can't do that.' It's not because I'm famous, it's because I have to be alone and be quiet. It's cool when you realise you can say no."
