All previous 'American Idol' judges will return for the final season.
The long-running show is set to end after 15 seasons and host Ryan Seacrest revealed he has been in contact with all of the panellists, past and present, to ensure they mark the end of the series.
He told 'Access Hollywood': "I've spoken to all of them recently and we as a team have talked to them about coming back to do something for the final season.
"They are going to do it, it's just a matter of figuring what to do with them."
The FOX show kicked off with Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson as judges and had a number of other stars join over the years.
Upon the news of its cancellation, Simon paid tribute saying: "We had a blast! Me, Paula, Randy, Ryan - and not forgetting Brian [Dunkleman, season one co-host]. Thanks to the fans we were able to make some great shows and found some amazing artists.
"Fox took a risk on a brand new show and I want to thank them for giving us the opportunity. They really were great times."
Simon - who quit the show in 2010 to launch 'The X Factor' in America - also thanked the entire country for enjoying the show for so long.
Among those who have been on the judging panel during its run are Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Ellen DeGeneres, Steven Tyler and Kara DioGuardi.
The final series will air in January, with judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. all returning from last season.
