Amber Heard has allegedly asked for her trail to be delayed.
The 30-year-old actress - who accused Johnny Depp of domestic assault after he allegedly threw a phone at her during a row in May this year at a villa in Australia - is eager to push back her trial date with her estranged husband, which was planned for Wednesday (17.08.16), according to the New York Daily News.
A source close to the 'Danish Girl' star has revealed she intends to push back the date to give her new lawyer, Pierce O'Donnell, more time to assess her case ahead of the hearing in a bid to get Amber a longer restraining order against the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star.
However, it is rumoured the extra time could allow the couple to agree on a private settlement before they face witnesses in court.
The deposition has been delayed a number of times, with Amber held up in the UK and missing a hearing last week, while the previous weekend she had spent nine hours at Johnny's lawyer's offices but was not questioned.
This news comes after the 'Mortdecai' actor accidentally cut off his fingertip in a fit of rage, which has been submitted as an exhibit in her case against him, after he discovered the blonde beauty had cheated on him with Billy Bob Thornton.
It has been claimed that during the row, Johnny "smashed several bottles and windows and also slammed a plastic phone against the wall unit". Amber alleges that one of the items cut his finger.
She also reportedly claimed Johnny dipped his injured finger in a pot of paint and used it to write words including "Billy Bob" and "Easy Amber" on the wall after accusing her of sleeping with the other actor, which she denied.
Meanwhile, Amber's deposition over the weekend lasted seven hours.
Amber was questioned under oath by her estranged husband's legal team in relation to her claims Johnny has been abusive to her, and she was asked in "great detail" about allegations of past violence.
