Alexander Skarsgard is confident he will beat Prince Harry to the South Pole.

The 'True Blood' star, 37, will race on the U.S. team against the flame-haired royal, who turns 29 on Sunday (15.09.13), on the British team to raise funds for the Walking with the Wounded South Pole Allied Challenge in November, and the Swedish star believes he has what it takes to beat Harry.

Alexander told People.com: "I'm pretty stubborn and motivated and I don't give up easily. I'm very focused and we're not going to lose!"

He added: "I'm very excited to meet him (Harry). I'll be with my U.S. teammates at the South Pole welcoming him. I'll be happy to see him when he arrives. We will be there first though!"

Despite believing he has the mental and physical skills to help bring the U.S. team to victory, the actor really admires his royal rival and plans to "give him a high five" when they meet for the first time.

He said: "I hear he's an amazing guy. I admire him for being involved with Walking with the Wounded for a couple of years and taking the time to help wounded soldiers. It's going to be an honour to meet him."

'The Wire' star Dominic West, 43, will head up a Canadian-Australian team and the three teams, which will feature wounded military personnel, will compete against each other as they aim to travel the 208-mile journey from South Africa to the South Pole in 16 days to raise funds for rehabilitation services for military veterans.
