Adam Lambert has landed a role on 'Glee'.
The former 'American Idol' runner-up will appear in the fifth season of the hit musical show this autumn in an as-yet unspecified role.
'Glee' creator and producer Ryan Murphy revealed on Twitter: "I am thrilled to announce that the super talented Adam Lambert is joining the cast of Glee this fall."
Adam follows in the footsteps of fellow 'Idol' alumni Jessica Sanchez, who had a multiple-episode role in series four playing a diva singer at a rival glee club.
It has not yet been confirmed whether Adam, 31, will have a recurring role or a one-off cameo appearance.
The TV show has a history of star cameos, with Kate Hudson, Ricky Martin, Gwyneth Paltrow and Sarah Jessica Parker all landing supporting roles in the past.
The flamboyant star is known for his powerful stage presence, and has filled in for the late Freddie Mercury during Queen's live performances, most recently for three sold-out shows at the Hammersmith Apollo in London in 2012.
Adam has been vocal about his love of 'Glee', saying in 2012 he thinks the show is "so cute", "irresistible" and "really paints a picture of what it's like to be an arts kid in high school."
The singer - who previously appeared on an episode of 'Pretty Little Liars' - also expressed his wish to star as himself on the show and not play a scripted role.
