The 'Nobody Wants This' actor has been wed to Leighton Meester - with whom he has two children, aged nine and four - for a decade and he prefers to keep some privacy in their relationship by using the bathroom in their home office to relieve himself.

After being told Nicole Kidman credited double-headed showers and separate toilets for her successful marriage to Keith Urban, Adam agreed and told 'Access Hollywood': “We have de facto separate toilets. I go in the office. It’s nice. One layer farther away from the kids and one layer more deep with privacy.”

However, the former 'O.C.' star's 38-year-old wife insisted it wasn't something she thought about and she just uses the nearest bathroom.

She said: “I just put no thought into the toilet situation whatsoever. Never crossed my mind.”

Meanwhile, Leighton admitted she thought 'Nobody Wants This' was "so good" when she watched her spouse and Kristen Bell's Netflix series for the first time.

She said: “I mean, I don’t know if I’m one to say — I feel like we watched it together before it came out and I was like, ‘It works. It works. It’s so good.’ And you’re like, ‘Yeah, yeah.'

“I think there’s no way to know, especially with streaming now you kind of can’t tell. And then it came out and it was like, ‘Alright.’ ”

And while the 45-year-old actor is now known to fans as 'Hot Rabbi', he quipped it is only his wife who "gets the good stuff".

He added: “That's not even like the A-material."

The show saw Adam nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series, Comedy - which ultimately went to 'The Bear' star Jeremy Allen White - and while he enjoyed a "nice" moment with his wife after learning he'd been shortlisted, he kept any celebrations low-key.

He said: “I received calls, but I don’t honestly remember calling anyone. We were in bed together, so that was nice. I don’t think I called anyone."
