Tamara Mellon has sold her stake in Jimmy Choo for £85million

Tamara Mellon the luxury shoe designer at Jimmy Choo has sold her stake in the company for £85million.

The 43-year-old sold her part to luxury goods group Labelux, who also own Bally and Derek Lam.

The £500million deal ensures that the mother-of-one still resides the role of the label’s chief creative officer.

Mellon the co-founder of the company, along with Malaysian-born Jimmy Choo invested £150,000 in 1996 and the company has since gone on to establish itself all the world over with celebrity clients including Elizabeth Hurley and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Jimmy Choo was bought out of the company in 2001. This did not deter Mellon in anyway who managed to stabilise the brand and add leather goods such as, belts and bags to the company’s agenda.

The company has also recently released their first fragrance. The designer starred in the advertising campaign.
