Sometimes the world gets us down, sometimes it throws a spanner in the works, that sends us into a hole of self pity. Well from now on before than hole swallows you, get up, dust yourself down, hold your head high and start again.
Failure is a way of learning, developing and growing. It isn’t embarrassing if you fail at something, it just gives you the opportunity to start again. You won’t be the first person to fail and you definitely won’t be the last.
Even the people at the top of their game have received rejection. If they can pull through rejection and become an icon of inspiration then so can you.
The Beatles were rejected from a record company , who said “We don’t like your sound and guitar music is on the way out”. They became one of the worlds most iconic bands of all time.
Micheal Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team, he is now the worlds most well known Basket Ball player. (You have heard of him and we don’t even have Basket Ball in the UK).
JK Rowling was divorced and without much money when she started to write Harry Potter in her spare time. She was then rejected from 12 publishing houses before someone liked her work, now she is richer than the queen.
A teacher told Thomas Edison he was “Too stupid to learn anything”, he then become the inventor of he light bulb and motion picture.
Walt Disney was fired from his job at a newspaper because he “lacked imagination”. He then went on to create Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and many other characters, as well as all of our childhood favourite animations.
All of these people and so many more, have been told they will amount to nothing and look who is laughing now.
How to do it?
1. Keep your spirits high
2. Take risks
3. Put yourself out there
4. Take rejection as their loss and not yours
5. Failure is a cause of improvement
6. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF
