Girl Power ruled at the News on the Block Property Management Awards earlier this week when a woman beat five men to be named Porter of the Year.
The awards ceremony took place in London and it was the first time the award had been up for grabs.
Cambridge Belvedere apartments employee, Isy Barrett, received the award for her hard-working attitude and dedication to the residents at the prestigious London apartments.
The award identifies any porters or concierges across the UK who have worked particularly hard and have shown enthusiasm and commitment to the role.
Nicolas Shulman from News on the Block said ‘With more than 12,500 porters looking after over 1.5million flats in the UK, porters are the unsung heroes of the apartments industry.’
‘The porter is an indispensable position in the smooth running of apartment buildings. This is an award for the unnoticed few who open doors, cleanclothes, mend pipes and greet residents with a cheery smile when they return weary to their home after a day in the City. We are very proud to recognize the work of Isy and her colleagues with these Awards.”
Eight other awards were presented to employees who had shown professionalism in the apartment property sector.
