Robbie Williams used his Apple Music Festival gig to announce the release of his new album 'Heavy Entertainment Show' and even treated fans to a first listen of some of the songs.
The 42-year-old pop star's appearance on stage came as a commercial announcing the November LP was aired during the 'X Factor', sending fans into a frenzy.
Midway through his set, Robbie introduced a song he'd written for his son Charlton, 23 months, but left most of the crowd open-mouthed at the shocking lyrics.
The track, called 'Motherf***er' featured the refrain "Your mother is a nutter and you're a bad motherf***er", while he also referenced relatives being a "cutter" and a "fluffer" and "selling drugs".
And at the close of his set, after an emotional 'Angels' - which he dedicated to his late manager David Enthoven - Robbie then played a second new song, 'Sensational', which seems to have been written as a piece to close his shows, in much the way he relies on 'Let Me Entertain You' as an opener.
Sensibly, the former Take That star knew not to overdo the new material, leaving it at two songs and letting his biggest hits do the talking during the rest of the show.
