Michael Buble was nervous about his performance as the Apple Music Festival show marked his first since undergoing vocal chord surgery.
The 41-year-old crooner's gig on Wednesday (28.09.16) was his first in nine months and although he was confident his vocal abilities were back to their best, he was still wary of letting loose on stage.
He said "Tonight's a little different. It's been nine months since I've had a show. I've had surgery. My voice is huge. It's been a long time and I couldn't think of a better place to come and share this with you.
"When I come out here and I am scared as hell, I'm a dad and I think of my kids."
The 'Haven't Met You Yet' singer played for just an hour, perhaps because he was easing himself back in, and after a set combining covers and his own material, he warned fans not to expect him to be back with an encore of 'Home', the song he usually ends on.
He said: "Ladies and gentleman you know those shoes they do a fake encore ... I'm not doing that. It's cheesy. But here I'm not coming back...
"I've ended the last 15 years of my life with the same song. So I wanted to end with a different song."
