Justin Bieber quits Instagram

No longer will the 'What Do You Mean' hitmaker be sharing shirtless snaps of himself after he opted to close his account on the photo sharing site.

Now when fans try to access the webpage, a message from the organisation reads: "Sorry, this page isn't available. The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed. Go back to Instagram."

The 22-year-old singer's decision comes only hours after he said he would make his account private if his fans didn't stop making comments about his reported new girlfriend Sofia Richie.

He wrote at the time: "I'm gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don't stop the hate this is getting out of hand. If you guys are really fans you wouldn't be so mean to people that I like."

And Justin's ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez weighed in on the drama, telling her former flame: "If you can't handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol - it should be special between you two only. Don't be mad at your fans. They love you (sic)."

Justin was swift to reply, writing back: "It's funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love. I'm not one for anyone receiving hate. Hope u all can be kind to my friends and each other. And yes I love my beliebers (sic)."

After Selena accused the 'As Long As You Love Me' hitmaker of cheating during their relationship, Justin fired back: "I cheated...Oh and I forgot about you and Zayn (sic)," supposedly referencing One Direction singer Zayn Malik.

Meanwhile, Justin's former girlfriend Hailey Baldwin has also been accused of "weighing in on" the singer's spat with Selena.

She posted a cryptic message on Instagram, which fans linked to Justin's feud with 'The Heart Wants What It Wants hitmaker'.

The message read: "We've all had our fair share of things we've done, both good and bad. What makes the present so powerful is when we take complete responsibility for our actions, we allow ourselves self-growth. Misplacing the blame onto someone else isn't going to get you to the next stage in life, so try not to manipulate a situation to make yourself look better."

Later on, Hailey - who no longer follows Justin on Instagram and has been unfollowed by the star too - took to Twitter to deny she was trying to get involved.

She wrote: "The only thing I "weigh in on" is everyday life in general. Don't rope me into things I'm not a part of and please respect my privacy. x (sic)"

Before he deleted his account, Justin - who had nearly 78 million followers - had set his account to private for a short time.

At the time he deleted the account, he was following 75 users and had posted 3,779 images and videos. Instagram users have the option to disable their accounts temporarily and bring it back at another time or permanently delete the account.
