Johnny Depp and Amber Heard acknowledged their marriage was "volatile" in a statement on Tuesday (16.08.16).
The former couple split in May after 15 months of marriage and the 30-year-old actress subsequently accused her estranged husband of being abusive towards her, and though the 53-year-old actor repeatedly denied the allegations, he did acknowledge their relationship was intense.
Johnny and Amber issued a statement after agreeing a £7 million settlement in their divorce case.
They said: "Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gain. There was never any intent of physical or emotional harm. Amber wishes the best for Johnny in the future. Amber will be donating financial proceeds from the divorce to a charity."
Johnny's admission their relationship was "volatile" may be a compromise as part of their agreement, as it was recently claimed Amber would only agree an £8 million settlement if her estranged husband agreed to make a joint statement and admit being violent towards her.
