We are multi-dimensional beings – mind body soul – however we have spent too long working on our mind and body and not nearly enough time nurturing our soul. Much is written about wellbeing, which is a great thing, however there is a piece of the jigsaw missing. The World Health Organisation says wellbeing is “a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” I believe we need to take this one step further to truly be a well being.
Spirituality is often met with a mixed reception depending on your audience. There is no agreed-upon definition of spirituality because it means different things to different people. Broadly speaking, it’s a sense of connection to something bigger than ourselves, that often results in a search for meaning in our life. It can be a set of principles or a practise. It can be mystical but it does not need to be religious. It is as individual as you are, but it connects us all as human beings. It is the process to reconnecting with our soul.
Our spiritual wellbeing is inextricably linked to our mental, emotional and physical health, so we must include our energetic body (our soul) as well as our mind and body in the conversation about wellbeing. Each aspect of our being has different strengths, but no one aspect provides us with everything we need to flourish. We must find balance and flow between mind, body and soul to access the joy, purpose and meaning so many of us desire.

1) Open your mind to the possibility that there is more to this life than your five senses experience.

3) Work on your self-belief; the way you feel about your skills, abilities, appearance and behaviour. FYI you were born with complete self-belief so you already have the tools to embrace this fully.
4) Learn to trust. In yourself, in the Universe, in the process of life.
5) Let go of the need to try and control everything. You are a passenger on your own journey and are exactly where you are supposed to be in this moment.
6) Take responsibility for everything in your life. You chose this experience and life is happening to you, for you, by you. Think of responsibility as responding to your ability.
7) Listen to your inner voice and make space for it to be heard by taking yourself out of your head – whether that’s with mediation or hobby that gets you into a state of flow.
And don’t forget to be kind to yourself and have patience. When we reconnect with our soul, we activate our gifts and become who we were born to be. What’s not to love about that?
