I moved to a seaside village in Cornwall five years ago. I spent a lot of my childhood here and it definitely has my heart. All my stories are set in Cornwall. I love a small-town locked room mystery – they're so much fun to write!

I’m obsessed with true crime podcasts. I’m fascinated by the procedural aspects of cases. It has definitely shaped my stories and helped me to understand how people react when faced with the most tragic of circumstances.
I used to sell antique paintings. I have absolutely no qualifications in it, other than a love of research! There are few things more exciting than buying something cheap at auction that you know is actually quite valuable.
I am a lifelong procrastinator. I leave most things until the last minute. I’ve always told myself that I work better under pressure. Avoiding writing is one of the things I do best!
I love being a mum. I was a bit of a workaholic before I fell pregnant with my eldest. I remember a work acquaintance telling me that everyone in the office was concerned about how I would take to it! I gave up work shortly after and was lucky enough to be a stay-at-home mum for many years. I think I’m well suited to having boys – although I probably would have said the same about having all girls!
I used to live in West London. One afternoon, I was out with my son and hadn’t closed the door to our flat properly. I came home and bumped into a man leaving, carrying our TV and laptop. He was very apologetic and returned it immediately. He even plugged all the TV cables back in! It was all quite amicable in the end. We shook hands and I never phoned the police.
