If you have a book lover to buy for in the next few weeks or months and don’t know which books they’ve read and which they haven’t, here are some alternative ideas that they will surely love!
A voucher: If they like to peruse the aisles of the book shop, sniff the spines and spend hours choosing their next book to read- a voucher is a great place to start. They can blow it all at once or use it throughout the year to come when they are ready to enter into another world of fiction or brush up on their facts with non-fiction.
A bookmark: This may seem like a cheap gift, but there are some fancy bookmarks out there right now. Ones that light up, ones that have an initial carved in the top, ones that have a built-in dictionary (!) and even ones that are shaped like feathers. Bookmarks are no longer just a slip of paper- they are so much more, and book worms can’t get enough of them!
An e-reader: If your budget is a little more for this person an e-reader could be the perfect choice if they want to cut down on the space that their paper books are taking up. Or they want to take a few titles on an upcoming holiday with them without taking up weight in their suitcase.
A reading light: Perhaps they are struggling to see the pages of their books because of poor lighting- in which case there is a plethora of lights out there all geared up to make their reading experience more enjoyable. You can even get ones shaped like books!
A book scratch off poster: If they always struggle to decide what book to read next, you can eliminate this problem in one go with a poster. It disguises 100 books that you scratch off one at a time and read whichever appears underneath. And they aren’t just any old books- they are books that are life changing, classics, best-sellers and award-winning books, so they are bound to be good!
Anything with books on it: A tote bag, a pen, a notebook, a t-shirt, a mug, jewellery, socks, a scarf- basically anything that tells the world that their passion is for the written word!
A book lover’s journal: This is a place for your book lover friend, family member or colleague to write down things they loved about the books they’ve read, to keep track of the titles they have already turned the pages of as well as make lists of the books they’d like to read next- a whole book dedicated to books!
