The Girls of Corona Del Mar tells the story of Mia and Lorrie who are best friends. Mia is hard of character where Lorrie Ann is the kinder one of the two. Mia struggles with her home-life as her mother drinks, she fell pregnant at 15 and her younger brother whom she loves- she simply can’t find it in herself to show him.
Lorrie Ann on the other hand has a close family, avoids making the same mistakes that her best friend does. Lorrie Ann suffers from an unexpected loss and their friendship is tested, as Mia feels that she can’t help her friend. Lorrie Ann’s perfect personality starts to become tainted and Mia wonders if she ever really knew the person she was closest to in the whole world.
