There is a little piece of evil in me
I hate to admit it, but with every character I write, there is in fact a piece of me in them. It may be minuscule, but I must be able to relate to my characters to be able to articulate their voice. In no way am I saying that my characters are based on me-that would get boring fast!-but each character holds a small part of me in their DNA. So, for those of who have read DIRTY DIX, are you wondering which parts of me are ingrained into Dixon and Juliet? I can promise you, I am not a raging she-devil or a promiscuous manwh@re.

Writers Block
Believe it or not, DIRTY DIX was written when I had writer's block. I found myself in a massive creative slump-something which has never happened before. I hated everything I wrote, and began doubting myself as a writer. I decided to think "outside the box" and stopped worrying about what I "should" be writing and instead focused on what I "wanted" to write. Three months later, Dr. Dixon Mathews was born.
Scream Queen
I love/hate horror movies. I love/hate being scared. My favourite genre of movies is horror, however, I'm the biggest scaredy cat known to mankind. You can find me watching a horror movie, hidden beneath a blanket, covering my eyes. But when my husband says, "Don't look!" I can't help but look-total glutton for punishment.
Little Miss Chatterbox
Following on from point three, I'm known to chat throughout movies. My husband and friends are quite accustomed to me rambling on and expressing my delight or disgust over certain situations. I was once dared to remain quiet for an entire episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer-I lasted eight minutes, two seconds. That's got to be some record!
Cat People
My pets are part of my family; therefore I speak to my pets like they are people. My neighbours are used to me chatting to my cats and dogs. However, I think they'd be alarmed if they ever talked back. I'm an animal lover and feel very strongly about their rights. It's one topic I am very vocal about because we are their voice. If you're cruel to animals, we cannot be friends.
Kiss Kiss
I'm addicted to lip balm! I cannot go an hour without applying at least ten coats. You'll always find about five different kinds in my bag as I cannot leave home without it.
Across the Universe
I don't believe in coincidences. I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason. Sometimes, if you talk to the universe, she talks back.
Lone Wolf
Being a writer can be a very lonely job, but the trick is to enjoy your own company. When I was younger, I used to thrive on going out with friends and socialising every weekend. Now that I'm older, I've come to embrace the silence. It takes noise to appreciate the silence.
A Breath of Fresh Air
I have an uncanny sense of smell. It's a gift, but sometimes it's a curse.
Old School
I'm still old school and buy CDs and paperbacks. I've never downloaded a song or album, and honestly, I have no idea how. I have downloaded books, but most/all of the time, I read paperbacks. There is nothing quite like opening a new book. The smell, texture, feel-everything about it brings back so many wonderful memories. I'm old school and proud of it.
