Early one morning while watching the sun rise,
An expected, remarkable sight filled my eyes.
God was standing next to me, letting waves roll over his feet.
Should I take advantage of this moment to finally meet?
But I then remembered of all the sins which marred my sheet,
So I held my peace and hung my head in humbled shame
Until I heard the eastern wind softly whisper my name.
Of course He would already know my heart,
So I was unconcerned when God began to depart.
Even though a weathered straw hat shield his face,
I could feel His forgiveness, and unwavering grace.
God didn’t say a single word as He passed by my way,
But His blessings fell on me in the form of ocean spray.
I have no doubt when God and I meet face to face again
I’ll fall down at his feet, knowing He has forgiven my every sin.
