A dragon-hearted man, his soul was covered in scales
His callous-hardened mind was clad in stone.
He had no-one to love, his life was bleak and cold.
His solitary existence touched no-one.
But then one fine spring day, a maiden came into town
She saw him standing there, all tall and grim.
She challenged him right then and was sadly turned away
His impenetrable pride wouldn't let her in.
But this brave maiden fair, valiant enough for two
Would not give in and tried again once more
And weakening his shell, she pierced his stony heart
With a lance of love that struck him to his core.
Now many moons have passed and the dragon has been slain
And his lonely heart has found a mate for life.
That lovely maiden fair, she now rules in his realm
A companion, a partner and his wife.
