Ahead of the release of her second paranormal thriller, Fran Raya shares the 7 things her readers should know about her:

Poetic Justice

Poetic Justice

I’ve always admired strong-minded women and aspire to be one. I’m a very creative person and my imagination is my saving grace!

I’ve been married for many years and my husband, Rob, is so supportive and irreplaceable. Also, my family and friends have always been a great source of inspiration. Loyalty is hard to find and I feel blessed to have so much encouragement.

I’m also a songwriter, who used to perform throughout Europe and the UK. These days I place material with other artists. I had the good fortune to be the support act for Eric Clapton in the 1980’s throughout Scandinavia. It was so cool. My website is www.franraya.com if you want to know more.

I’m into all types of music, vintage jewellery, quirky people, historical cities both here and abroad, good food, good company and loads of laughter. I’ve inherited my dad’s highly developed sense of the ridiculous and believe me, it’s saved my sanity on more than one occasion. Like most people, I’ve had my share of ups and downs but have overcome a lot of hardship. That’s when I’m at my creative best.

I love writing and I’m very excited about my latest work. This is a planned series; an unusual thriller with a paranormal edge. It’s a different slant on a supernatural theme because there is a lot of human emotion and family life around the main character, giving it credibility. The second book in the series Poetic Justice: Oxford has just been published by The Book Guild and is available online at most major bookstores. They also published the first book in the series Poetic Justice: The Dawning which is still available. I am so grateful to them for giving me this opportunity to get my series ‘out there’.

I’m very spiritual and have always been interested in the supernatural. It fascinates me. I guess it was inevitable that I’d write a book with that theme. My cousin made me laugh recently. She said she’ll read the latest book, in the middle of the afternoon, on a sunny day, with all the lights on! Priceless.

I’m pleased to say that these days I think women have a stronger platform. When I was younger, it was harder to state our case, especially in the workplace but it’s so great to see that we now have a voice and a presence, that will not be ignored. It can only get better.

Fran Raya is the author of the ‘Poetic Justice’ series. The stories follow Randal Forbes, a dynamic and mysterious man with dark powers that he calls ‘the gift’. His startling slate grey eyes radiate when he is in the throes of his telepathic reprisals. Randal Forbes has a dark side so malevolent that only someone with a similar ‘gift’ would be able to challenge him. But who would dare?
