Hoot hoot
The owl echoes
In the dark midnight hour, as I began to walk through the woods
With my bag pack and flashlight glimmering, bright like a car light
I heard a voice
“Ranny come on.”
Over here
We have campfire.
He almost startled me, I ran closely to join him and two other friends,
Jake and Britney.
Jake was a slim dude with wavy hair, very calm, mixed with Indian and white
He’s very smart and majors in Biology. Britney was the Hotty, always capturing the spotlight; she had beautiful brown eyes, fat cheeks. Weigh 150lbs, her smile was marvelous, very smart and she majored in criminal investigation.
As we all sat around the campfire, peering as the marsh mellows roast
Time was rather shivering with the cold winds. Jake began to tell jokes and scary stories
Which made us all spooked out as we were drawn in by the mystery he unfolds,
But at the same time we shivered with fear. It was rather getting late, our eyes grew sleepy.
We all just call it a night as we set up our tents. I slept right through the night like a baby
A few times I rolled but that was that. By next morning I woke, I saw Britney and Alex tent prowled open but they weren’t in sight.
Alex is a good looking guy, one of the cool kids, a ladies gentleman, He was black
Very well spoken a few times the others didn’t understand his Creole and his favourite musician was Bob Marley.
As I gazed around, I only saw Jake who was eating some meat of some kind.
As I stroll to Jake, He looked up with a big grin
“How did you sleep?”
I replied,
Okay I Guess.
So um…... Where are Alex and Britney?
Jake swallowed.
“I think they are checking out the place.”
“Oh.”
So what you eating?
Jake peered at me
Pause.
“You know chicken.”
I replied,
“Can I have some?”
He replied,
Go ahead.
As I divulge in the delicious roast chicken sinking my teeth with the rattling of my belly screaming hunger. In few minutes I was satisfied. Jake and I got Bored we remembered we carried a football. So we started juggling went 50 while Jake merely went 10. In the middle of the juggling, Jake asked, don’t you think we should look for
Alex and Britney? I am concerned. Then I looked at him, thought that he read my mind.
By the time we went walking, It became dark, Pitch black, Jake and I stayed close.
We could hear the owls hooting, the leaves blowing, and our own footsteps as I reached a cave where I saw illuminating bright light I had to cover my eyes to shield me from
The bright light. As I got closer to my surprise I heard Britney calling
“Hey”
I said hey back, so why you guys didn’t tell me you were leaving. Alex stuttered, Britney immediately jumped up and said, join us.
Then she asked,
“Where’s Jake?”
I turned around to see where Jake could possible be, But he wasn’t behind me
Surprised. I presumed he got lost. Let’s look for him, the lamp they had came in handy
It was bright. I could see everything all the time we were searching For Jake, I wondered
Where he could be. For 2hrs we searched, No sign of him we thought that by morning
He would find his way back.
Morning came
No Jake
The other day
Still, No Jake
We all got worried and scared not knowing what happened to Jake. We called the Sheriff
When the sheriff arrived, they patrolled every inch of that woods. When he came back
He took off his hat
And said,
“I am deeply sorry for your loss.”
Immediately Britney crouched and began crying
Alex and I stood still
Mute
Unable to even move
As we approached where they found Jake, I saw his body his hands and feet had been
Chopped to little pieces, on his face wrote “The Night creeper.” On his stomach
“Next, Alex, Britney and Ranny.” Immediately I felt the shiver way down to my spine,
My hands and legs trembled with fear, frightened. When we all return home, police outside on the look out. I could hear screams as I lay still in bed, I could hear my mom whispering a prayer. I couldn’t tell if what was happening was real or a dream as I was in a coma.
